someone like an engineer doesn't question logic but rather improve on scientific principals they learned. there is no philosophical side to it as far as i can tell. i can't think of a single situation a professional would use philosophy over science in your examples.

philosophy is the basis for science but its like admiring the eiffel towers foundation and saying the tower itself is far less important.
