this thread is about intelligence, not nurture's affect on your beliefs.
to get it back on track, ill say that if a person is truly intelligent, they wont just assume their parents' beliefs without question. truly intelligent people are usually skeptical even at a young age, therefore most will question even adults' beliefs and advice early in life.
I'm somewhat inclined to disagree, since I know at least one guy who's adopted the political/religious viewpoints of his parents completely (conservative/staunch Lutheran) and is considerably smarter than I am, maybe even a genius. I know another guy who's about as smart as I am (pretty strong physics student imo, fucking horrible at writing papers) and is a young earth creationist.

Once I realised that I the smartest of my social group, I noticed behavioral things about the people in said group.
Now I can't stand some of my friends, there jokes are dumb and often involve penises, sex or throwing stuff at people.
Ignorance is bliss, don't think your intelligent think you just chose a different way of living.
Naw, you're not too smart to make dick jokes with your friends and have fun. If you were John Forbes Nash smart, you wouldn't say "my social group", because you wouldn't have one.

Being intelligent blows... I would give anything to be a dumb ass so I could be happy with a shitty ass job, a wife and 2 kids and live happy like almost everyone. Every time I speak with someone they are morons but somehow they are good at making friends and girlfriends... But me... no... Fuck my life.
Forever alone?
