after watching ancient aliens, i tend to believe their take on religion, that most things in the bible are true, except interpretted by primitive humans about a highly advanced species who visited us long ago with the promise of returning one day. jesus was pretty much the hybrid of them and us and served as their ambassador while they were here. if this is true then they probably seeded us on earth hundreds of thousands years ago. as wild as this sounds it makes more sense than us evolving from rocks.

You can't disprove the existence of unicorns without believing in unicorns.

You can't disprove the existence of god. It's just silly to even try.

you can't prove it either. so the default would be without evidence it isn't real.

equally true so there is no point in arguing.

to disprove religion

So you have to read a story book to know that its just a STORY?

I don't see the logic in this

This is pretty much what i thought too.

But i don't waste my time worrying about whether we were created, or evolved from some hot water because life is too short.

And from my life experience, ignorance is bliss.

I love how the agnostic fags say you can't disprove the existence of a god.

You really can't, though. The idea of god is too flexible. The instant you do something that you think disproves god (like venturing into space), "Well heaven's not UP, but it's certainly somewhere"

The general idea of a god cannot be disproven, but when the idea of a god is defined well enough, then it can. I just hate it when I see agnostics make a claim that god can never be disproven, which is obviously bullshit. For instance, refer to my thread about an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent god not existing in PaRD.

I think you can disprove possible aspects of a god like you've done (I your argument about omnibenevolence makes a lot of sense, but I haven't actually done any thinking for myself on that matter because it never really interested me so I've never weighed in on the subject), but really all that does is say that god is not X, not that there is no god. Part of that flexibility of what god might be. Since agnostics don't believe in any specific god, though, I can't imagine a way to go about actually proving that there is absolutely no possible god.

I hate to derail this amazing thread but this forum is for discussing "Science, Technology and Nature", aka "Things that are measurably real". Not "Fairy Tales". You'll find that over in the religion and christian fellowship forums.

Thanks.
