rediculous. first off ive been a vege for 16 something years and am in perfect health. vege diet is by far superior to a diet with meat for the reasons give previously, the fact that you stretch so far to reject them shows you are biased and denying the facts. lol at the part about how "cows have fun". have you seen how we raise our chickens or pigs? it is not natural, it is immoral and it is causing serious health problems. you can eat all the meat you want to but at least acknowledge these simple truths about where it comes from and the harm it causes. i dont want my 12 year old developing breasts from the rBGH in the milk, which btw is banned in canada, new zealand and most of europe. you body creates the amino acids (protein) you need to survive, just like a cows body does from eating grass.

meat does not make us money.

OH meat doesnt make us money

In 2009, more than 526,290 workers were employed in the meat and poultry packing and processing industries. Their combined salaries total more than $19 billion.
Through its production and distribution linkages, the meat and poultry industry impacts firms in all 509 sectors of the U.S. economy, in every state and every congressional district in the country.
In all, companies involved in meat production, along with their suppliers, distributors, retailers and ancillary industries employ 6.2 million people in the U.S. with jobs that total $200 billion in wages.
Through direct taxes paid, these companies and their employees provide $81.2 billion in revenues to federal, state and local governments. The consumption of meat and poultry generates $2.4 billion in state sales taxes.
The meat and poultry industry’s economic ripple effect generates $864.2 billion annually to the U.S. economy, or roughly 6% of the entire GDP.
In 2008, meat and poultry industry sales totaled $159.6 billion, up $9 billion from 2007.

ok now add in the figures for where the money comes from. ofc people spend money on food. to say that if we stop eating meat that it would cost us millions of dollars is false. it costs the industry, while the average joe saves money.

lol you really arent getting the big picture here. plants need light, water and minerals to grow while animals need to consume plants. they consume many times their weight over their lifetime making them inefficient. lol at your young eraging mouth. i bet you get beat up alot.

It may not cost us money to stop eating meat, but are you going to employ the 6+ million workers that would loose their jobs?

Actually i retract my statement about meat not costing money. If you take into consideration the loss of revenue; then there is all those unemployment benefits that has to be paid out with the loss of jobs.

that is not a valid arguement. even if it was i would unemploy 6 million to feed the 1,000 million that are starving.

Lol. Taking 6+million jobs away isn't a valid argument? Going to need an explanation on this. Also until the USA fixes its own homeless/hunger problem i see no reason for funding to go to other countries.

wow that is either really cruel or just uninformed opinion. most countries simply cannot feed their people because of lack of food. america has a staggerring amount of homeless but on the plus side we throw away enough (29 million tons a year or 25% of what we bring home from the grocery store) for them to find a meal in a dumpster, if you call that eating.

the point is that you are looking at the 6 million saying we cant change the system because of the immediate effect, in the long run hundreds of millions will be fed. pretty simple logic to me.
