yes it changes everything because if it wasn't for its recreational usage 90% of the pro-marijuana crowd wouldn't exist.

stop trying to sound smart on this issue because the fact is you will not legalize recreational usage by arguing industrial usage.

you will not legalize it by comparing it to alcohol and cigarettes. these arguments still rely on everyone being responsible which people are not.

the only thing that has a chance of being legalizing is medical usage and industrial usage simply because most people don't want or care if its legalized.

the majority rules so get use to it. you won't change anything by spouting off the same crap every other pro-marijuana person says because its irrelevant why it was illegal in the first place because as it stands its considered a social nuisance either way.

the majority here referring to dollars

i don't think oil companies, tobacco companies, alcohol companies, paper companies, textile companies, etc want to compete

being excellent at competing is why so many of those industries have had companies grow into global powers. there is the issue of supply and demand to deal with in business and do you honestly think their is a high demand for businesses with marijuana products? if it wasn't for recreational use the plant itself would of had a potential market in the past but there isn't enough legitimate business for the other markets currently.

there are legitimate arguments for industrial usage but without the demand there is no need or want to supply anything.

i think you're neglecting the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" principle. why would these corporations risk switching business avenues when what they have clearly makes them money?

i'm not sure how you got that impression from my statements. i was pretty forward about it having no place in the current market.

only time will tell if there is a market for it but i doubt it will emerge if ever in the next decade. people just need to realize there is no reason for our politicians or the majority of americans to work to have it legalized.

i just meant there is a market, but it's easier to bully it out of the way by funding its illegality than to switch/compete directly

there is a minor market but legalization won't change that because its simply not a demanded product.

switching is bad for everyone it will be massive losses in profits and jobs.

competing is not the issue because honestly whens the last time you heard anyone but a marijuana smoker mention wanting marijuana products? its just not a viable market legal or not.
