I actually just realized, after reading this, that there are two ways to interpret the thread question. The whole time I've been reading it as "We know man created god. Can man create something greater than that?", but now I see that maybe he meant "We know god created lots of stuff. Can we create more than god did?". I wonder how most of the people here interpreted it.
Since he included "digitally" in the thread description, I took it to mean can Man, through use of a (super) computer, create more planets, stars, solar systems, and galaxies than actually exist.
I would say the answer is yes. If not now, then give it a decade or two. Computer power has been doubling every 24 months for the past what, 40 years now? And Moore's Law is expected to hold through at least 2020, and if we can break past the physical limitations of electron lithography by using quantum computing or some other method, we can continue making them even more powerful beyond that.
