Your statement is just as ridiculous and senseless as his.

If you can find even a single source that says Earth's gravity is failing and that the moon will one day stop orbiting the Earth because of it, and that this could one day cause the moon and Earth to collide, I'll retract that statement. However, I'm confident that you won't, because a light simply can't collide with the Earth. It can only shine on it.
