Well this is the stupidest explanation for global warming that I've ever heard. If the Earth were getting closer to the Sun, then our revolutionary period would decrease. In terms you might be able to understand, the length of a year would get shorter. It's not getting any shorter, so we're not getting any closer (outside of the obvious differences between the aphelion and perihelion of our elliptical orbit).

there is no current scientific merit to any of the 2012 predictions. mayans believed human sacrifice controlled their weather so i wouldnt take their predictions seriously. and btw they never predicted the end of the world, their words have been twisted and reassembled to get the media ratings. last there is no way they would have predicted it to an exact date. cmon use your heads people! i predict we very well may not evolve as a species. disprove that.
