I just watched a youtube video of it then.
It went for about 6 minutes and it explained everything, but I could swear I heard that exact story about 4 years ago...
It was on the news and some people were talking about the end of the world.

Yes, from what I've heard and researched, Mr. Hawking said there was a miniscule chance that it could create a mini black hole.

He then followed that up by saying that it is not possible that it would have enough energy to actually form, and there is 0 chance of it happening.

So no, it will not end the world.

the only real frontier left is the great unknown oceans of earth. we know less about what is at the bottom of them than we do about the surface of the moon or the surface of mars.

hey Not trying to be rude or disrespectful cause this is just an opinion, But I have a feeling there are greater forces then the government at work on our planet contoling what goes on and who they let down into the depths of our oceans. Don't u think it's kind of strange we have countless missions into space, but have only made one or two trips to the deepest part of the ocean? Idk I may sound crazy, but just seems strange to me.

there have been more unmanned missions to the bottom of the oceans than to space. part of the reason is that we cannot see to the bottom with a telescope (light cannot penetrate the depths). as for your conspiracy theory, that ones pretty out there...

Pressure is a big problem I'd imagine. If you send a vehicle containing people into space, the air they breath will push outward on the vehicle at 14 pounds per square inch. Its nothing to sneeze at but that really isn't a lot of pressure. When you send a vehicle with people in it to the bottom of the ocean, the water on the outside of the vehicle will push inward on the vehicle with 16,000 pounds per square inch. While I don't know for sure, I have to imagine this is a pretty serious impediment to exploring the bottom of the ocean.

NO! Technology is getting too powerful and it will likely bring an end to the human race. I've read that if LHC exploded from overuse, it would destroy all of Europe and Africa.

its very powerful but nothing like a fusion reaction. we are safe from the lhc. if there was that kind of danger terrorists would blow it up or something.

i read somewhere they think there are higgs-bosuns from future experiments already in the tunnels (they are travelling back in time). wait till they create a device that can interpret them like a telegram (morse code). will we instantly get messages from the future?

Whoever told you that is an idiot. The LHC is capable of forming black holes and black holes from anti matter (white holes). When antimatter and matter collide, we get annihilation. The amount of energy that is released from a black hole white hole annihilation is 100 times more powerful than the Sun!

Most of such ideas are just speculations, and speculations has nothing to do with science.

The LHC has the pontential to create black holes, but they would be so small and have such a low amount of energy they would dissapear as soon as they were created, and thus have no possible chance of doing any damage.
White holes are jsut a speculation, there is no evidence to support they actually exist. Anti-matter does exist, and we can produce it in small quantities.. but it would take trillions of dollars just to produce enough to match a Nuke.

The LHC doesn't have nearly enough energy or particles to do anything but give us some numbers on a computer. There is a 0% chance that it could cause any damage. The Sun puts out more particles and energy in a milisecond then the LHC could do over hundreds of years, and there is no chance the Sun will turn into a black hole.
