my brother believes in this nanotechnology

however, overpopulation would be an issue... the earth simply isn't large enough to support overlapping generations

but a new life sustaining planet + nanotechnology would be win :)

Not likely. Besides, the ramifications would be astronomical. Read some Sci-Fi books.
