We aren't "struggling" for survival, but if things went out of whack we would. We spoil ourselves with stores.

Yes. Example given:  overall we humans are becoming better looking. If you look at 100 years ago or so and now we are on average better looking. (This is true).

i feel as though we are not considering humans do not have to struggle for survival anymore. We can endure just about any environment we choose to live in, which rules out natural selection and survival of the fittest. And random mutations aren't nursed into becoming abundant. what do you think?

even now humans still favor desired characteristics. Evolution wont change it just adapts to any scenario.

you know China only allow 1 children per couple right? there is no free education/social benefits after the first child. thus most poor chinese family only have 1 kid.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-child_policy

there is no education/social benefits out on the rice fields
the only way to survive is get more kids, which means more harvested rice

just like primitive animals

Devolution won't go that quickly. If it took us X years to evolve from homo sapiens to homo sapiens sapiens, it'll take us at least 1000x years to evolve back. Metaphorically speaking.

Lets break this down. DEvolution is impossible. Well, not impossible but the probability is statistically insignificant. It will never happen.

Quote
Devolution shows itself in minor, insignificant things. Things that are insignificant since they no longer make our surviving chances bigger. For example: You probably know somebody who is really athletic, and can run for miles without feeling anything. Compare this person to an average Neanderthal, and your friend will be ashamed of himself.

Do you even know what evolution is? Variations among the population are NOT considered evolution. Again, DEvolution will never happen.

Quote
Don't mix it up with the common, Devo-like "devolution". People getting more retarded every generation is not devolution; that's just an educational phenomena which has nothing to do with genetics. Example: People use calculators frequently, so their math(s) skills decline. This is because they don't practise maths anymore; not because they are genetically less intelligent.

Again. Devolution doesn't even exist. For seriously. Seriously look it up.

Quote
Which, in case it makes no difference to your chance of surviving / mating, is obsolete and insignificant.

Don't disparage genetic drift. It's incredibly important.
