I think there's a very very small possibility they still exist. Definitely more likely than the loch ness monster.

But the fact that we've only explored 5% of the ocean doesn't give enough hope for it. They would have been seen by now if they still existed.

Who knows, maybe they are hiding from us in the deeper waters like a trench or something

Not denying possibility, but the giant squid lives WAY down. We just didn't have the technology to explore down that far, and I'm pretty sure sharks live near the surface.

There is a possible chance. We just need to look deeper and wider in the ocean. It's true, only 5% of the world's oceans are undiscovered, and the 95% could unveil Megalodons we have not seen for millions of years. Who knows, the Fish is possibly feeding on other whales or prehistoric animals we have not seen before or could be a living possible. Its possible, all we need to do is look harder

well we dont know what its habitat is. it is highly likely it would have to live near the surface, in which case we would have already spotted one so then itd likely be extinct. but on the small chance of it living deep in the ocean then its possible its alive.

Do you think there is a place for this beast in the modern ecosystem?

The thing with giant squids is that their corpses wash ashore therefore we knew they existed.
