I heavily based my decision on a lot of the scientists' famous quotes and all, and I pretty much love Albert Einstein's quotes so I went with him. But on a more scientific level, I really don't think you can judge a scientist based on contributions to science as mostly all of these scientists have done something extremely important for the progress of modern science.

Yea Im not trying to get a rank here. My purpose is mainly to seewhat other people think. Who they liked and who possibly got them thinking in a so called scientific manner.

I voted other. I enjoy reading about the Nikola Tesla / Thomas Edison rivalry. Also enjoy reading about their inventions.

Yes. They were both great inventors, I would say.

I voted Others.

Sorry for translation mistake happy.gif because I'm French and can't translate scientific words well smile.gif !

My 2 favorites :

Dmitri Mendeleiev because he built the whole periodic table which (if you know chemistry a bit) is a omfgroflcopter job!!! wallbash.gif

Gottfried Wilhelm Von Leibniz because he created differential calculus (in rivalry with Newton) and that's what made us understand everything that has numbers.

Feed back time! happy.gif

Yes I liked that era of Leibniz and Newton the most. Those two created calculus, at times which were considered to be simultaneous. Calculus is a very important tool and means of communication for certain sciences. It is also a science and of course is still being worked on.

Yea the periodic table and Dmitri in general was a great advancement in chemistry. It allowed for a classification of elements and structure to what seemed to be a changing science.

Darwin, followed by Einstein.

Then Salk and Mendell on the lesser-scale.

Are you that intellectually stupid that you cannot even try reading this thread, and have to try and simply leave an insult? Congratulations, now gtfo jsp.

I stated 9 poll choices simply, like I said, because I thought of them first at that moment in time. Of course there are more scientists...and of course I too like the less " generic" choices. What was the point to come in here and post I have shitty poll choices....ah yes to show that your the biggest d bag of them all. hail.gif

Way to try and look like a badass in the science forum. You do know I can only make 10 poll choices at maximum correct? So I chose 9 and then...hmm I chose an other...as in you can put other and state ANY other scientist you want. Hooray. See how that works?

I chose Darwin because, While other scientific achievement made by other others are amazing, Darwin hit a more important mark. For instance, Einstein's theories are very complex and are of astounding depth, I feel it was more important to know where we, as humans originated. Now that we know where we are from, it is more amazing that we HAVE Einstein's theories but Einstein came from an ape!
