So if the Earth is round was a 2500 years old example of circular assumption because Eratosthenes had to assume the sun was far away and therefore light rays between cities 800km apart would be completely parallel, and only a round earth could account for difference in shadow length of the same size objects 800 km's apart. And how could he assume the sun was far away - by using parallax and trigonometry and assuming the Earth was curved thereby create a 2500 year old example of circular logic that you 10000000% believe in and your complaining about books that are only 100 years old - omfg you're stupid kid.
ow yes, scientists nowadays "just believe" what was assumed thousands of years ago. nothing has been tested
ur friend on that youtube video on the other hand! HARD TESTING AND ANALYSIS WAS DONE to establish that what he was talking about was not just his personal opinion based on a drawing of a pillar that was supposedly LAYING on EARTH itself
very credible source of information flatty, ur parents must be proud!

i'd agree but i've personally seen some shit i can't explain rationally.
literally thought someone was being heli evac'd turned around and all the sudden nothing was hovering over the house anymore and i was sitting on top of a hill with perfect vision of the surround airspace.
world is more fucked up than we think imo.
visual perception is not perfect, depending on environmental and health factors u can easily start seeing stuff that r not there ;p
u have to understand that by now we know enough about the human brain and how it perceives the world and also what factors could cause "malfunction" in that perception in the sense that you could be hearing/feeling/seeing things which r not there and of course not too long ago, that would have been all u needed to CONFIRM that YES there is something supernatural happening when in fact nothing was really happening and it was all in ur mind. of course thats a really disappointing answer since people r naturally curious creatures and always prefer to believe in something more exciting and unknown rather than accepting that the world might actually be as boring as we normally experience it ;p that would explain why even thousands of years ago, ppl were drugging themselves to death to be able to communicate with their "Gods" and nowadays probably 3-4 in 5 teenagers smoke weed/take drugs etc. life is just more interesting that way i guess
ofc there could be ghosts/aliens or w/e else paranormal living among us and I WILL be the first one wanting to see it but I've watched MANY both real documentaries and supposedly real-life paranormal experience documentaries (which i consider an insult to my intelligence) and im yet to see any remotely definitive proof of such beings existing.
on the other hand, all flatty needs is a visual cue to suggest him an extraordinary idea and he is sold
