no. On a related note, many Christians believe that the rapture/apocalypse will happen soon (due to the predictions in the bible). I wonder what the excuse will be in 500 years after nothing happens. However it's possible that by then religion will be nearly dead anyways. ^^

Sadly, many people only heard of it when they made a movie, so they think its a big joke.

But there are also many of us who were looking into it long before they "Hollywoodized" it.

This isn't Y2K. There hasn't been an "End of the World" prediction before.
