you are correct. I believe what they said they do not even know the composition of the planet, and further studies would be needed to see what really is going on there.

"If Kepler-452b has a similar geographic composition to our planet then it is in danger of entering catastrophic phase of its life."

I also think the NASA report (although I can not find it ATM) stated that this planet was most likely in late "greenhouse" effects, so even though its in the "g" spot.. it would never be a reasonable expectation to travel there. Although long distance research could be gather to get a better grasp on how the planet my be effected in the next million or two years.

your forgetting about the travel time to get their so by the time we arrive things would be significantly different. if its in its greenhouse effect few million years from now probably be habitable if it is not partially already

if it takes 1400 light years and you assume we will travel at 40,000 mps
then the total time would be simply 1400* 186/40=6510years

This seems right to me

So we left that planet already and arrived on earth.

thats wrong sorry.. our closest star would take us atleast 75000+ yrs let alone one thats 1400 light years away

Yep. I think it like 4 or so light years away.

Sounds like NASA is just seeing how much hype and excitement there would be for an earth 2.0, even though this planet is probably nothing like earth
