yeah thing are probable simpler than they seem, all it took was an apple falling on some guys head to realize what gravity was.

lol most of the time the answers are right in front of us.

But if we're trying to go backwards wouldnt the answer be behind us? Or would it still be infront of us since we're now looking back, or would it still be behind us in our new position because that was originally forward?

This is correct

The theory of Relativity says time is relative to speed
The closer you approach the speed of light, the 'slower' time becomes

So in Einsteins example, if you traveled to Alpha Centari at the speed of light (6 light year round trip), for you 6 years would have passed.

But here on earth 100 years (not sure exact conversion) would have passed.

They clearly are as you travel through a space to travel through time. It's equivalent to you sitting in a chair.

You're occupying space why moving through time.

The latter applies in the same sense that if you were to move significantly forwards or backwards in time, you would still have to (not only) occupy the space you're currently in, but that space through that period of time.

I want to say yes because it makes more sense than saying no

if we sling shot around our sun at light speeds would we go back in time?

That was in Superman II, lol. No that wouldn't work - essential they already use the slingshot theory to do space travel by using the gravity of the planet to increase speed. Going around the sun would certainly make you go faster for sure but also melt your ship to particles at the same time.
