It's hard to care for something you have so little control over so I can kinda understand why most people don't give a hoot.
Like it or not for the most part corporations control what can and will happen to the environment now.

This is pretty misleading as we already have a scale of comparison.

I appreciate that you're bringing it into a state of immediacy, but it's pretty sensationalized.

Try millions, over the course of modern industrialization.

Scientific evidence shows us to be in a modern mass extinction event by way of confluent data.

I don't imagine any conservation minded individual would think otherwise.
