sorry to go completely off topic, but there has been a few murders around my neighborhood recently, they found out the guy was a corporal in the military. He would tie women up and rape them and then wear their underwear and take pictures. Of his 4 (that he admitted to) victims, he killed two and let two go, his reasoning was "people would recognize their story". I have been driving myself crazy these last few days trying to figure out why he would let two go, and what i could do to make sure my daughter is at least one of the ones to get set free (if not one of the ones who helps convict) if this scenario would ever happen to her.
his confession:

crazy does as crazy is.
He may have been a true psychopath that suffered some other mental illness, thus leading him to release the girls so that they can have their stories heard. This is his ticket to fame.. perhaps a strong underlying feature of his acts, rather than just the sexual pleasure of control in the situation.
It is perplexing though. I dont know the stats, but id assume it's quite addicting, and most would do anything to not get caught -- ie, why so many psychopaths increase their attacks at a dramatic rate (ofc, they also get more efficient, but there's a high from it that they want again).
Little extra info - psychopaths are created in the womb. Usually due to heightened levels of serotonin in the frontal cortex of the brain. This saturation of serotonin reduces their capacity for empathy.
A key way to pick a psychopath is to look for someone with a lack of empathy for others. Perhaps they make too many bad satire jokes and never really show compassion. etc.
Many of the bad psychopaths start early. Lack of empathy etc and very often start on animals, due to the lack of empathy/compassion and the high from the feeling of power and control (correlates with your psychopath:career stats).
Final note - many psychopaths do not act out on their tendencies, or even have evil tendencies.
And many successful people are narcissistic in nature.
