my primary argument against the consumption of psychedelics, and especially DMT is that they have a tendency to make people that consume them insufferable cunts and idiotic eliticists.

Idiotic elitists.. Probably talking about every bigger political or religious people or groups that think they've eaten all the wisdom with spoons, demandig things, forbidding things thinking they are the, well, (idiotic) eliticists?

An elite of dumbasses, they are everywhere. Those YOU are talking about are such a minority, with no impact at all.

If thats the primary argument, I'm as well call obama and the pope now (just using them as representatives) and forbid everything they stand for or do.

Don be so fast with your conclusions, just because some are idiots.. You may forbid idiotism, and not the object of idiotism.

See the difference?^^

using somethig in the wrong way doesnt make the thing that is being used (or mis-used/ab-used) wrong.

And also (another topic now), indigenous DMT is also thought to be related to e.g. Schizophrenia, that the amount of dmt is out of balance leading to symptoms that we then summarize as "schizophrenia".

For us to perceive "normal", we need certain amount of indigenous dmt to maintain this perception. Etc.. Well, thats an interestig topic imo.

Meditation is also said to hace impact on that, so in context, helps maintaining/balancing indigenous dmt and further in context helps maintaining (or getting to) sanity, normal perception, clarity of perception etc etc.

Well, interesting topic indeed imho.

I haven't seen any studies on the function of endogenous DMT in the brain, if there is any, but that would be fascinating.

Being personally inexperienced is a pointless thing to bring up is all im saying. It's not magic and therefore is quantifiable and therefore can be credibly explained without the need of personal experience.

People who call out people for not being users are the same people that go "well what kind of car do you have?" whenever you say their car is slow. it has no bearing on the statement you made yet they insist its important because they are too dumb to see past themselves.

I'm fine with their choice to use, but too many users are simply too ignorant to realize the experience is a novelty and not a key to a different plane of existence.

It might not be 'magic' but different psychedelics easily can be life transforming, not that this is not well known already, LSD, MDMA's, Psilocybin's use in therapy; Psilocybin has been used in Switzerland to treat terminally ill cancer patients to help them regain their sense of self and perspective on their life. Of course the establishment and industry much prefers serving out an array of patented psychiatric drugs, rather than using psychedelics therapeutically to bring about rapid change.

Also look at ibogaine basically curing some heroin addicts over night, unheard of with any kind of standard treatments.

Dumb it down all you want, even from a purely rational and scientific point of view what some of these substances can achieve can be quite remarkable, but really also only leave many questions about the complicated nature of the mind and human consciousness.

Yeah it would be different if someone took a DMT hit came down and had some incredible knowledge usable for everyday people. like making quantum physics and relativity work together or some shit. I think its just a extreme feeling of euphoria where people think they are "connecting to the universe"

LSD was used in studies with maths/physics students who reported much more ability to think creatively and approach problems much more easily. LSD was a massive thing in psychiatry and among intellects in the 50's early 60's, until it became illegal, because of its growing popularity among the general populace (we can't have that).

Seratonin is 5-hydroxytryptamine, DMT is dimethyl tryptamine, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was, the structures are pretty similar.

Oh I'm sure it's present, I was curious about its function(s).

isn't that like how toxins and drugs work, the "somewhat similar but not quite"-thing
