The magical strawberry princess has opened her arms for you. She is right here in front of me saying that your afterlife is gonna be sweet as fuck if you dedicate your life to her.
No pressure, but I just want you to know that she is open for you. You're gonna be missing out on some awesome afterlife if you make the foolish mistake of not dedicating a huge amount of time to her.

Not the answer I was looking for. There is actually no way to disprove the existence of something. And yet, the inability to disprove it exists does not mean that it does. This type of logic forms the cornerstone of science. I think I saw you mention before how science actually supports religion. Well if that is true then why are the fundamentals of science ignored when assessing the validity of religion itself? Shouldn't each complement the other in such a world? You are a very bright person HST, I hope that I am bringing you to look at the world more objectively, and that you ultimately achieve greater happiness.

Can't use that kind of logic here, since they've been taught to believe they'll be sent to hell if they kill themselves. Convenient, huh? Don't try to grab this awesome thing I want to give you, or I'll mess you up!

And science is beckoning you with open arms. You have free will. Yet science does not require you to accept it in order for you to reap its benefits. It merely asks you to open your eyes and observe, then open your mind and analyze what you have seen. It's like the world's greatest gentleman. You can call him names and spill his coffee, yet if you ask he'll still get up and open the door for you. Just like it has opened the door to the world of scripts and programming for you.

What's your point? Plenty of famous and smart Christian scientists. I wasn't trying to disprove, you asked me what COULD be an argument that would persuade me not to believe in an intellgient designer (God). And I told you the problem of evil, which is a sure as hell better than what Tyson was talking about on that video. Pun intended

Of course there are christian scientists. That's why I picked the gentleman analogy. You don't need to let science into every aspect of your life in order for it to do nice things for you.

And I very much would like to hear what could discredit religion in your eyes. You say evil and natural disasters, can you go into detail?

P.S. I don't mean to nitpick but this kind of makes a big difference. My previous question didn't ask what could persuade you to disbelieve intelligent design, I asked what your definitive criteria to disprove it was. The whole point is that there is none. Your thought process seems to break down here, you seem to think it means if it can't be disproven it must be true. Furthermore, your offered topics of evil and natural disasters have very little to do with intelligent design. But I'd like to hear it anyway.

I find it unfair that someone can create a topic. Post his own blatant beliefs about something, then watch others post opinions and start debating over it.
While OP, doesn't even come back to be a part of his thread.

As for the ppl who follow science and the ones who follow the writtings in a book (a book that keeps getting renewed non-stop...)
All I can say is, I have experienced both sides of it, religion (faith/God) and science. The ones who grow with knowledge are the ones who combine both, and keep an open mind to them.
I've dealt with many one sided ppl, I call them fanatics. You cannot change their state of mind. W/e they believe in, right or wrong, doesn't matter. Trying to persuade them or even make them realize truth, even if you show it to them right in front of their eyes, wont change anything.

It's best to not discredit science or any kind of faith. Also don't force onto ppl what you believe to be true, one persons truth is anothers lie.
Everyone is allowed to have their own opinons about everything. We must respect them all :)

As for the topic at hand; I wont even bother giving my own input about it. Cause the thread Imo., wasn't made for inputs from others, was just made as a fact, from one persons point of view.

It's really hard to see the perfection that you and the animals/plants/waterfalls/etc have if you're constantly pointing out the negatives. It would be as if God took you through his art gallery and pointed out all the great pieces of work and you just sat there like,"this doesn't look like art to me". God is different for everyone and everyone is free to define their beliefs about such an entity without the fear of being called "non-scientific" or "non-realistic". At the age of 19 I nearly died and went to what people would call "heaven's gate" and was givin a 2nd chance. This confirmed to me that life exist after death(I almost didn't make it and in my opinion produced a large dose of DMT). This can always be argued as well because I also spent two weeks in a psyche ward and because of my intense paranoia in there I would go into the shower and meditate(produce DMT) and it took me to an Atlantis like world. Just know that there are many paths and many houses in God's kingdom ;)
