one they got is an echo 310

he likes that its lighter - makes cutting trees down all day easier + if you have to climb to cut specific limbs down the light weight comes in handy.
afaik, most of the trees he has encountered, it fared well against. overall he likes it.

That specific model is only a 14", but based on the reviews and the price range, it seems well worth the buy.
I appreciate you looking into that!

yes it is a 14 inch, but im pretty sure the other chainsaw we use is like 18+" stihl. my dad still enjoys the echo, even if its 14" and uses it for majority of the trees.

i guess it depends on what size trees you plan on cutting though :)

lol you aren't going to get a good chainsaw for 150-175 dollars

sure you can buy one but it wont have much power

but if it is just small trees then you should be fine

I would just go buy a polan from kmart/walmart do the job and return the damn thing

I personally own a smaller Husqvarna which is more than I would ever need (mostly used when camping for downed wood - has no trouble with larger trees).

But, for your price range and needs, a Poulan isn't a bad choice. I got one for my brother for Christmas two years ago (he uses his for the same purpose I do). The only issue it has is that it can be a bitch to start at times, especially when cold.

As a side note, Poulan is actually a branch of Husqvaran, so the quality isn't that bad (basically just a lower model of the Husqvarna).
