That is actually false. A conscious observer is not required to make the collapse happen. Interaction with other materials is enough, often times it is just the normal air molecules that present a serious problem and this is why many experiments are done in hard vacuum, to reduce the chance of this happening unintentionally. This is one of the major stumbling blocks with creating a quantum processor (the accidental collapse into a definite state because of unintended interactions with the equipment/air in the processor). But the purveyors of New Age "quantum flap-a-doodle" always seem to forget to mention this tidbit.

Furthermore---and probably even more distressing---is that no part of the video you linked (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YYBCNQnYNM) even addresses your claims.
