No? ..

So let me know since when did they start measuring the distance to the moon??

Because to make such a thread claiming such things as you did, FOR SURE you know the data and facts.

Who first calculated the distance to the moon and how?
In: Astronomy, The Moon [Edit categories]
Answer:
60 earth radii is the distance and Aristarchus is the person that found it in 270 bc during a lunar eclipse

So the distance now is the same that was in 270 bc???

So wtf is this thread for?

Did they keep measuring it every year since 270 bc?

Since when have they started measuring the moon distance to conclude that we are losing it??

PLEASE ANSWER ME THIS QUESTION so I can proceed in explaining how much it all matters.

i think he is right we are losing the moon but every so slowly i think the sun will make life on earth un habitable before the moon is gone tho

1) i never said that...
2)

per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Laser_Ranging_Experiment

Results:

Some of the findings of this long-term experiment are:
The Moon is spiraling away from Earth at a rate of 3.8 cm per year.[6] This rate has been described as anomalously high.[8]

3) ive searched but i have no idea how often the distance is measured... i assume since they have done it that there is some automated process now... or maybe they have a routine...

So theyve been measuring it since 1962.

And 50 years of data out of BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of years are enough to assume that the moon is moving away from the earth??

FUCKIN LOL

Plus who knows theres not gonna be another meteor breaking another moon or a couple of moons out of earth in BILLIONS OF YEARS to come??
Who knows if theres not gonna be a meteor breaking the moon apart in pieces?
Who knows if

ETC ETC ETC.. so many questions and possibilities when you talk about BILLIONS of years that I find it really hard for someone to ever question something like this.. an 8year old child wouldnt be so lunatic.

Plus the fact that who knows that with our solar system moving around our galaxy TOGETHER with its up and down movement dont influence our planet and our moon gravity force, so in a couple of million of years the moon is dragged away and another couple of million of years the moon is pulled in.. but OH MAN just thinking that you are talking about BILLIONS of years I just immediately LOL and freeze my brains,.. cant believe that someone can come up with such affirmations having 50 years of data lmfao..

Again this thread/question is an ultimate failure.

edit: Affirming that the sun will be this or that in a couple of billion of years is itself delusional enough to disregard any theory or say based upon it. Ffs.

Ffs, what do we really know?? Billion of years?? ..

The saddest affirmations from people is when they assume that the universe follows any stable pattern of evolution.

You know, you are only a human, living on a planet on a random solar system on a random galaxy in the universe.. Things ARE GOING to change, this planet wont be here most likely in a billion of years, meteor and all the shit in space hitting it will definitely destroy it, or it just blows up, or an alien ship with the size of jupiter will eat it, or WHATEVER ..

Its just a planet.. the sun is just a star... things WILL change.. and in a billion of years?? lol

Who the fuck thinks about it. And why.. its like if I go to bed and just dream and imagine unrealistic stuff just for the sakes of it..
