Could this allow us to shrink a fully-functional desktop computer down to the size of an earpiece? Or this only storage memory like a hard drive, not able to be used for processing data?

How would you be able to look at something the size of a earpiece and browse the internet?

By looking at the output device the ear piece is connected to?

Greater understanding of dna, being able to use it to store data is one step, next step is being able to program it, then we just have to design dna nanobots that read your genetic code and fix any inperfections.

its been along time since i was currant with this stuff
but from memory , its shortening telomeres that limit lifespan
as each replication shortens the telomere abit more
and thus limits the amount of times a human cell can divide ( about 50-60 i think )

the whole personal ID chip idea would be gone with this coming into fruition....
you could store every single thing about yourself on some DNA... including name and bank info....
AND you could encrypt it with a has so long that nobody would try to break it....

securing personal info... on a person...

:hail: I'm waiting for this for some time.
But unfortunately I'm not smart and old enough to participate.
I will gratefully use the technology, however it will also be not easy to integrate it into todays systems.

At first there will probably be hybrid (silicon dna) based storage devices

Cheers!

So will this let me view porn faster? Cause if not I don't really see what the big deal is.

There is nothing in our DNA that says we have to die. We just need cells that can perfectly reproduce themselves.
