Its a very important issue. Using hemp instead of paper could open up possibilities for textiles, paper products, and possibly even biofuel.

Given the amount of widespread misinformation on the subject, I'll agree with helic.

he is talking about smoking marijuana not industrial uses.

I'm not debating the dangers of marijuana(There are none really, other than criminal charges of course), I just used that as a title because I thought it was a bit ridiculous.

Yes there are. Marijuana isn't perfectly safe like potheads want everyone to believe.

but lets compare something that isnt perfectly safe to something that gives lung cancer, obesity, makes pennies dipped in it black overnight(coca cola) and is out there because its just too profitable and was made to be that way by all the ingredients that make it poison in the first place

you compared it to cigarettes so of course you were talking about smoking it.

this is exactly why you need to work on your comprehension skills.

then why use cigarettes(recreational drug) if you weren't speaking from a recreational use standpoint? your example was clearly about recreational use vs recreational use.

if you were arguing industrial uses then why not use ethanol, wood, etc? because you don't care about the actual useful things and just want to smoke it.

and by the way if marijuana was legalized and mass produced it would most likely end up just as bad as cigarettes because of all the additives used in mass production.

of course. that changes everything.

you know the reason why it was illegal in the first place, right?

yes it changes everything because if it wasn't for its recreational usage 90% of the pro-marijuana crowd wouldn't exist.

stop trying to sound smart on this issue because the fact is you will not legalize recreational usage by arguing industrial usage.

you will not legalize it by comparing it to alcohol and cigarettes. these arguments still rely on everyone being responsible which people are not.

the only thing that has a chance of being legalizing is medical usage and industrial usage simply because most people don't want or care if its legalized.

the majority rules so get use to it. you won't change anything by spouting off the same crap every other pro-marijuana person says because its irrelevant why it was illegal in the first place because as it stands its considered a social nuisance either way.
