they serve the same general purpose even if they are made from different components. you wouldn't have todays tv if it wasn't for the steady innovation since the first tv.

yea they are still different technologies

the components changed but the purpose remains the same. its innovation not invention when you compare the purpose not the components.

its a more complicated version of someone making a wood straw and then another making a metal straw. one is more complicated but its still just innovation.

talking about "or example, i just invented a unique device to poke my dog with, and then i destroyed it."

you don't seem to understand the difference between invention and innovation.

okay would you prefer i say "i just created a new device "?? the semantics of the word invent arent important to this thread. its about whether or not a technology can become obsolete

like really could you be more irrelavent? like fuck i couldve stolen the idea from neighbor. and you never saw my device it couldve been invisible and you couldve drawn rainbows with it

the point of it was that i had a unique useless technology that i destroyed, and its now obsolete and doesnt exist anymore

whether i invented it, stole it, shitted it out of my ass doesnt matter

no its a different technology

the same way a black and white tube tv is a different technology from a 50" plasma flatscreen

You are absolutely preposterous.
