Well I what I think is that if one country starts implementing this sort of thing, the rest will follow the bandwagon.
The outcome would be simply amazing in my eyes, would be the first thing in the entire history of humanity where we could come to an understanding ignoring cultural differences and whatnot. This isnt about money but more about bringing different societies together.
Of course the change would take time, entire generations even, so the change wont be immediate letting us absorb whatever the costs are little by little. Plus im not suggesting to completely eliminate the current languages we have, simply adopting a new universal language that the majority of the world would speak.
