Usually yeah, since you have a harder time relating to people and have a tendency to spend more time alone.

The idea behind that is that it's harder to find intellectually fulfilling relationships if you're TOO intelligent, and that leads you to feel like you're always alone. That only applies to TRULY gifted people (IQs of like 180+) since there are plenty of people around with IQs in the 130-150 range.

Wow B) i must be too intelligent lol

How true is that?

false, to an extent. i feel that people that poss inteligence of an enormity may have an unhappy life because they feel alone, or that no one else is like them, outcast.
yet they could easily find people around the world that are that smart.
people who are intelligent i would assume are the happiest, unless you a reffering to a religious standard, in which maybe the more you know the harder it is to believe, which may stress people, where as it is easier for some people to be ignorant to information and just have faith. if you know what i mean?
its all dependent on the mentallity of the individual if you ask me

Yes, childhood is a period of innocent bliss. Total lack of intellectual and moral responsibility. What do you do all day? Play.

i wouldnt say im smart, i mean im smarter then my friends in math but thats just cause ive taken higher classes, anyways since im not super smart, the only reason im unhappy currently is cause ive been learning how wastefull (through observation) and shitty our society is, and how i dont want to be a part of it

My boyfriend brought up this point the other day. I think that intelligence could make you more unhappy but it is not necessarily a determining factor. Someone may come to realize that for example there is no real point to life other than to die. One person might take this and get depressed and not do anything with their lives. Another person reaching the same conclusion might decide that they really can make a difference, even if it is insignificant on a large scale.

yet sadly get molded into whatever your parents/teachers believe. (most of the time)
ex: most children whose parents are republican, become republican and vise-verse. and religious standpoints.

this thread is about intelligence, not nurture's affect on your beliefs.

to get it back on track, ill say that if a person is truly intelligent, they wont just assume their parents' beliefs without question. truly intelligent people are usually skeptical even at a young age, therefore most will question even adults' beliefs and advice early in life.

most will ask "why?" and when their parents explian, they usually just believe because they are their parents. talking about like 10 and under.
the older you get, the more you learn to question everything your taught and told. imo

Being intelligent blows... I would give anything to be a dumb ass so I could be happy with a shitty ass job, a wife and 2 kids and live happy like almost everyone. Every time I speak with someone they are morons but somehow they are good at making friends and girlfriends... But me... no... Fuck my life.
