Can someone link me a legitimate article on 2012? I personally don't believe that the changing in polarity due to the whatever aligning to the whatever will make humans cease to exist. I think it will just change our polarity relative to the universe. That is all.

The end of the world will happen when each and every one of our planets in the solar system all align at the same time.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune are ALL aligned in a single line. The day that happens will be the day of the end of the world.
