Depends on your definition of what sound is.

Typically, for a "sound" to occur, there needs to be a source that produces a sound wave, a medium for the wave to travel through, and a receiver. If there is no receiver that can perceive the sound, then there is no sound.

When the tree fall's, it will make a sound, no matter whos around. But some people would assume otherwise, and say no because theres no point?
