You can't get updates and your warranty voids.

:(

You can reset it.

or update the jb version, as one comes out with every new version. and yes if it crashes you just plug it into itunes and click restore.

I've actually had a really tricky situation. I ziphone'd it and it got unplugged accidentally halfway through the process, when code was scrolling down the screen. Anyways, it froze like that and wouldn't turn off. I had to wait for it to run out of batteries, and my comp wouldn't recognize it. I had to turn on the ipod, the apple would flicker for 2 seconds, then it'd go off again. I had to try to put it in DFU mode in like 2 seconds. I don't know how I fixed it, but I was up all night trying.

you could have probably dfu'd it before the battery died. that happened to me when redsnow was loading and it froze for about 5 mins but was still able to dfu it back and start over

Absolutely. There are no cons, only pros.

Most definitely yes. If you mess it up, you can always just do a factory restore. So absolutely no downside. Also, not unlocking the iPhone is like Optimus Prime not transforming. There's so much more potential with it jailbroken. Mine is, and you can do soo much, for free too.
