Cannot happen because time does not exist.

To travel into the future, you would have to, as mentioned, achieve close to light speed so that your own time slows down.
The only way to venture into the past is through a wormhole (Einstein-Rosen bridge).

There's no way to go back in time, going forward and backwards aren't equal transformations -- because when people talk about going forward in time, they're not REALLY saying lets skip ahead a few years with a button click, they're just talking about slowing down your own frame of time with incredibly high speeds. Even if there was some way to speed up your own frame of time, you would still not be going backwards in time.

And fyi, the earth's rotation has absolutely nothing to do with time travel. At all.

Amen

Well, according to Einstein and his theory of relativity. The past, present, and future are all happening at once.

Wtf?

The idea of "time" is man-made. To nature, time is a constant; there is no past, only present. Therefore it isn't possible to travel back or forward in time.

How can you not travel forward or backwards in time?
If you look out into space, you see things that have happened millions of years ago but in present because it has not traveled to us yet.

The image of it hasn't traveled to us. If we were to approach the speed of light and head in that direction, the image would be moving much more rapidly, and you'd be watching things unfold. However, you'd still end there in the present. You're not jumping in time, you're simply adjusting the image of what you see lightyears away. It's not like you could travel to that point, then travel back to the earth to the exact point when you left, or before that.
