It doesn't make sense to believe the world will end simply because the Mayan calender ends on that date. If I'm correct their calender was based upon Astronomy , but those observations have no influence with human affairs. It's just the same as those idiots believing in the "Mars Effect" (the position of Mars affecting the birth of great athletes) based off of some random statistics. Just because two things seem to occur at the same time does not mean they are related in anyway. In the same way the Mayan calender ending in 2012 based upon Astronomical observations has no real scientific meaning to human affairs/existence. To believe in doomsday 2012 based upon Astrology would put you in the same group as bigfoot hunters, ghost hunters, ufo hunters, etc. Astrology is not science its pseudo science.

The Mayan calender is the most accurate calender out there..
The thing is, it's already ended multiple times, and guess what happened.. It started over, just like any other calender out there.

i dont mean to be rude, but you dont know what you are talking about.

The mayan calender ends in 2012. The calender consists of two wheels that work like gears in a clock.

there is a big wheel on the right which has weeks or months....

and when the big wheel goes all the way around, a little wheel to the left of it turns to the next year.

the small wheel will have done a full rotation in the year 2012, and that is supposed to be the year of the apocalypse.

Btw, just a little fun fact...

It just so happens that the suns rays are going to be perpendicular to the middle of the 13th star constilation on the year 2012, which only happens once every 13,000 years. (which is in the middle of all the star constalations and used to be the 13th month of the year until it was considered a bad omen....)

Feel free to argue with me lol

You seem to have a partial understanding of the mayan calendar. When the "small wheel" complete's a full rotation, the only thing that will come to an end is that period of the mayan calendar. as the new age begins, the wheels continue to turn. So what ZenD said was correct.

Didn't the world ending in 2012 Start because the mayan Calander said so?

Because i thought the Mayan calander just stated that at 2012 is just a new moon/sun, Or something along those lines of a new something, not the end of the world.

Also it won't end because its Englands turn to host the Olympics.

i agree..its much better than sitting here wondering what day is your last and then when it hits, you'll regret not living your life to the fullest.
