Is this guy really holding the sun or is it does it just show an understanding that optical perspective is different than reality?

Has nothing to do with how the sun can appear to set over the edge of the earth like a ship when the ship is on on the ground(water) and the sun is above the ground.

ur looking at it from a side view, on a 2d screen....u are not taking the real optical perspective view of it
no human can see 6,700 miles away, our eyes don't function that way...objects (on the higher plane) will converge (fall) until it disappears at the vanishing point

I understand, this is truly difficult to grasp, the indoctrination is taking hold and won't let you go.....u gotta fight it and break it

"Perspective" as you keep putting it is a 3 dimensional application of the exact same math he's showing. It doesn't matter if you're in 3 dimensions or two because the 3 dimensional case can be easily decomposed into two two-dimensional cases with a common axis.

wrong, answer these question

Answer these questions:
Are these railroad tracks going over a hill in reality or just appear to be raising optically because of perspective?

Is this water raising in reality or just optically raising according to the Law of optical perspective?

You cant really hold the sun, but optically you can, Ships arent going over the curve and the sun isn't really setting - they only appear that way to the untrained eye to people like yourself who are completely ignorant as to how perspective works.

The Earth plane only rises to the vanishing point and no further. It doesn't obscure the sky. Nothing falls below the plane of the Earth, everything goes to the horizon/vanishing point.

Also, Sauce is right. If the sun was 3000 miles up it would never even come close to being blocked by the ground. It would have to be much MUCH lower to even be blocked by a mountain.

Incorrect as usual - the sky plane goes past the earth plane and is blocked from you seeing it. Vsause is wrong. BAsically youve been trolled for 2000 years and you've guilty of battered wife syndrome.

the correct side view to display your visual perspective is this:

see your 2d geometry is correct, your understanding of 3d perspective is not.

Still haven't recognized or addressed the question I asked.

The ship is at ground elevation.
The sun as far as I know isn't.

How does the sun appear to go over the horizon if it is in the sky and at no point dropping below or even near the horizon.

Nice Cartoon animations - do you really believe that shit?

Heres what stars really look like

Because the sun is physical moving away from us while also obeying the law of our optical perspective.

3d perspective is a product of two, separable, 2d systems at work. The "perspective" you're seeing is a result of the 2d math I just showed you.

I could easily expand it to 3d, but that would take more time than I want to commit, and it's really not necessary since it would just decompose down to the same 2d system I just showed you.
