To be fair, logically speaking, one does not have to refute the consensus to be valid. But you are correct in that he holds the burden of proof. He claims the Earth is flat, and he has presented zero evidence that it actually is flat.

Pythagorean math for a sphere proves the earth is flat since no one has ever been able to show a curve exists irl.
