ive been watching videos about it on youtube. from what ive seen it's not suppose to be the end of the world but suppose to be entering the golden age. there is suppose to be a pole shift that changes the energy that flows to earth and our consiousness will shift into the 5th dimension which supposedly occurs every 26k years. hindus call it the age of Kali, christians call it returning of christ (consiousness). the polar shift will cause some natural disaster for a few days but then it is suppose to be smooth sailing from there with no more war and polarity consiousness. no idea if it will happen but seems like you shouldn't be afraid if it does.

Look at Y2K. People had their firearms ready and was robbing stores, freaking out over the fact they might die... its 2010 now, nearing 2011... lol
Where I'm going with this is, there will always be talks of "omg [insert year] is going to be our end!". Y2K wasn't the first in centuries that individuals predicted "the end". Both WWI and WWII there were talks and fanatics of the end linked to their current war(s). We still live.

From what I understand, the Mayan calendar is in cycles as stated by another individual. 2012 is the end of the calendar cycle, not the end of the world. The calendar will just start over.
