comparing it to other bad things and saying it should be legal because its unfair to pot smokers is stupid and you need to realize that. pot smokers are a minority and have yet to give the voting populace a reason to make it legal. what percentage of current recreational marijuana users would you consider responsible citizens?

anything that intoxicates you makes you at higher risk for a car wreck. its not as bad as driving drunk but its close.

so anytime you pro-marijuana people feel like giving the voting majority a real reason for them to legalize it lmk. (aka something that would benefit non-smokers to since people don't seem to realize that the voting majority doesn't smoke pot)

No. What you need to realize sir is the whole reason marijuana is illegal in the first place has absolutely nothing to do with protecting or assuring wellbeing for anyone at all. It was 100% propaganda and lies that made marijuana illegal. Flaw #1 right there. Do you honestly think the government had the people's best interest in mind when marijuana became illegal? It was all a greedy money game in favor of the cotton and tobacco industries. The government funded a whole bunch of bogus "research" on marijuana to further brainwash and keep people afraid of it. Let me summarize this for you. WE WERE LIED TO. Legitimate neutral scientific studies have shown that marijuana is just about the safest drug on the face of the planet and the whole reefer madness craze that campaigned to make marijuana illegal was full of bullshit. If something was made illegal out of bullshit lies, why wouldn't it be a good idea to legalize it? Would you be ok with it if the government went around trying to make illegal anything that threatened their picture perfect ideal? You claim there hasn't been a legitimate reason to make it illegal but that's not true at all. When there's no reason to KEEP it illegal, that's a pretty damn good reason to legalize it. Honestly, tell me one single reason why legalizing marijuana is such a bad thing. I bet you can't. Smoking weed and driving is NOTHING AT ALL like drinking and driving and you need to stop generalizing intoxicants in that way because you only further spread confusion and misinformation. The government has absolutely no right to dictate personal responsibility and doing so only makes people stupid. Plain and simple: people say weed should stay illegal because it's a drug/bad for you. Tobacco and alcohol are collectively a thousand times worse for you than marijuana yet they are legal. Seriously dude, just put two and two together here.

i forget back in 1961 they knew EVERYTHING ABOUT DRUG AND HOW THEY WORK. even today scientist are still getting mixed results in marijuana research.

you say i'm giving misinformation but i've experience first hand how hard driving high is for a casual smoker.

the government has no right to dictate our choices? are you really so stupid to think that government regulation of personal choices is unnecessary? i suppose we should get rid of police then since they are so unnecessary.

they can be a million times more harmful as long as people choose to keep them legal. people choose to keep marijuana illegal because its their opinion. gtfo of america if you have such a problem with democracy and laws.

the tax act didn't make it illegal it just made it impossible to pay the tax on it.

but i was wrong and it was actually 1970 controlled substances act that made anything tied to marijuana illegal.

i got my date wrong sure...but you didn't have a date or any real idea what you were referring to.

next time you want to correct someones information try to be at least ballpark with your information. i would of accepted your tax act reference since it was almost right but being completely ignorant in such an asshole way is sad.

i did have to google cause 1961 sounded so wrong when i typed it and i just did a quick google first thing i noticed was 1961 and i was like eh i guess. did futher looking after and realized my mistake cause i knew that didn't sound right.

trying to figure out what 1961 had to do with anything atm since it was in my head and a google search lol.

edit

suppose this was what 1961 date was for

In 1961, the Joint Committee of the American Bar Association and the American Medical Association on Narcotic Drugs conducted a major, combined study of drug policy. These experts note prohibition is based on the misconception that marijuana itself is responsible for criminal behavior.

They contend, rather, that high prices in the illicit market are the primary stimulus for drug-related crime. That illicit market is a direct result of marijuana prohibition.

For the science aspect of it you can research cannabinoids to see more or less of what it is all about. It will probably be better to use the search engine from a university to get reliable information from the databases they use. You can also look at the Shafer Commission Report that Nixon requested then later threw away since it went against his agenda to launch the War on Drugs.
