Quote (Santara @ Apr 27 2017 09:47am)
Did I even remotely claim a gun's recoil is 17,500 mph? No. No I did not. I gave it as an example of a chemical reaction and how it creates force. But hey, leave it to you to make yet another retarded comparison to avoid the point. Next, you'll be straining to claim that shooting a gun in space won't move anything.

I have no interest in entertaining this line of bullshit. It asks and answers nothing of any relevance.

but....

Quote (Santara @ Apr 27 2017 12:09am)
the chemical reaction in a bullet being fired .....is..... Just like a rocket.

It's a pretty stupid comparison, but if you wanna believe a rocket allows speed to increase from 2000 mph to 17,500 mph in 8 minutes, and that its just like a bullet, i'm pretty sure you'll buy anything Nasa aka the Military industrial propaganda wing is selling.

I mean look at that fire - there's no way it could be to mesmerize you.

are you real? you've resorted to editing quotes to completely change their meaning?

Quote (Santara @ Apr 27 2017 05:09am)
the chemical reaction in a bullet being fired pushes in 2 directions: the bullet is propelled in one direction, and the gun is pushed in the other. Just like a rocket.

He did not imply they were similar in scope of the forces involved or in the type of reaction taking place. You twisted the quote to imply he did.

A centipede might bite a spider to kill it, like a tiger would to a zeebra, but does that mean the centipede bit with anything approaching the same amount of force? Of course not. This is basic logic.

The chemical reaction that takes place in a bullet is not like the one that takes place in a rocket, not even close.

exactly.

edit.... nice edit - but see how you twist your logic to claim your bias, priceless.

And now your comparing it all to a centipede bite? Wtf - I think we've entered the Twilight zone of Logic.

? I still stand by the text that you quoted even though it's not in my post anymore.

2 KNO3 + S + 3 C → K2S + N2 + 3 CO2 (gunpowder)

vs

2H2 + O2 → 2H2O (rocket)

Thank you for agreeing with me that they aren't similar at all, but the previous comparison between gun behavior and rocket behavior as it pertains to the kinetics (not the amount of energy or acceleration involved) remains valid

Well you just made a strawman connection by claiming i said i witnessed wireless communication 1000 years ago when i clearly didn't even imply that

But you're mad at me for pointing out the connection that was directly implied by Santard that a bullet was "just like a rocket" was somehow out of line even though you totally agree with me?

Wow, ok is this what they call circular logic?

So rockets work in space because centipedes eat spiders and the fact that bullets work on Earth, got it.

I said that a thousand years ago people couldn't conceive of sending a message as asinine as "hello" thousands of miles because that would have been very difficult. That was in response to the thing about aliens not traveling billions of light years to see us which is based on the fact that right now for humanity that would be very difficult. These aliens would be more than just a thousand years ahead of us, they would be millions of years ahead of us. Who is to say that them traveling a billion light years isn't as trivial as it is for us to send a message across earth via the internet? Sure, it doesn't match up with our known model of the universe but a thousand years ago neither did sending messages across the globe in nearly an instant.

You then proceeded to say that you've experienced instant long-distance communication on earth after quoting me, if you weren't implying you didn't see it 1000 years ago that response makes no sense in the context of my quote.

Stopped reading right there. No point reading your arguments if you aren't actually arguing anything.
But yeah, this is what I was talking about when I said you aren't willing to learn. You are a complete ignoramus that thinks he's super smart and enlightened. You refuse to consume information that's presented to you on a silver platter, information you desperately need.

Ok genius.

Its great all information towards your bias on the internet is correct.

Kids dont even need to go to school anymore, they can just read wiki and be done with it cause everything there is 100% correct and we are at the peak of understanding in everything

and Fuck you if you dont buy into the the industrial-military-media propaganda!

got ya.

No, the problem isn't that you refuse to believe, the problem is that you refuse to even read. You refuse to consider. What was that quote you posted several times, something about people that are willing to entertain a thought without accepting it? You are the exact opposite of that. You plug your ears and close your eyes and scream "It's NASA propaganda!!!". Anything that disagrees with your perception of reality is automatically and instantly discarded. If you think someone is saying something you'll disagree with you don't even bother reading it, that's how unwilling you are to entertain thoughts that conflict with your bias.
