well given that you're trial gives us 2 more generations before the effects start i think its safe to say GM foods will be exponentially better engineered and put aside all doubts about them being bad.

we advance things pretty quickly these days so we have to wait and see what scientist come up with. isolated incidents are bound to happen since everything has problems are times.

Thats fair. But we need to push for saftey testing. They keep approving more and more GM foods, without testing, most recent being salmon :/

until something is actually tied to gm foods being a bad thing they really can't stop them from being produced on anything other than skepticism. given the usual learning curve for GM food its kind of amazing nothing bad has happened up to this point. so either they are doing something right or they are really lucky.

Eh, its an unnessessary risk imo

I know its not valid scientifically, but when i eat GM food i can totally tell. I feel really crappy most of the time :/

i think its less risky now though since the foundation seemed pretty reliable. one of those times when science actually got lucky and started in the right place imo.

also the thing is you know when you are eating it so your mind plays a big role in you not feeling well. placebo effect ><

No the risks clearly outweigh the benefits right now. Until the science and testing is there to confirm they're safety, they should be avoided. Honestly i would never take a drug unless i know that its been tested many many times.

And no, i said it before in this thread. Tl;dr version, i didnt know i was eatting it. My mom sometimes get non organic produce which frustrates me, but i looked in the fridge and sure enough it wasnt organic :/

thats part of it. you think about it and your brain lets you feel whatever. its like when you start counting calories for the first time you instantly start seeing fat growing every minute because you are informed on how calories work now and how much a pound of fat is in calories. its just a placebo effect due to too much attention.

the thing is the risk are maybes and the benefits are happening right now. without something showing people being hurt by GM foods there is nothing other than opinion to say they are hurting people.

Well not like it matters to ne one esle but me, i know that i feel worse when i eat them. It does get into psychology and i know that, but im not going to eat foods that make me feel bad. My whole goal of eatting is to support my body the best i can; so i feel good.

No; based off the research we do have, its not good news, not even close. Just because it hasnt happened now doesnt mean it wont in the future. I would much rather remove it until we show its safe, if that ever happens. Its a very well educated opinion that these are going to cause problems. Im guessing you're not sitting on the side of caution as much as i am, but i dont think its even close to responsible for us to allow them.

And as ive said many many times before, the benefits arent really there. That has been shown.

I dont think we'll ever agree on this, but at least one thing we do agree on; Safety testing needs to be done.

i just don't put much stock into removing something that is so useful now based on incomplete knowledge that something might happen in the future. both sides have very educated people saying its good or bad but its the only difference between the two is which side is your side is quicker to judge something bad without definitive knowledge and my side is doing as much as possible to ensure those things won't happen and haven't happened. i'd be on your side if anyone had ever been hurt by GM foods in the last 15 years but that isn't the case and i cannot side with "might". i'd much rather GM foods advance and hell one day it might even produce a plant that supplies us with everything we need to survive(aside from water) that taste good to boot. the possibilities are endless for GM food but organic food is a dead end and cannot be counted on for future population growth.

Im tired of arguing about this honestly.

It keeps going in circles
We disagree, and thats the end of it.

seems like someone else wrote that and he just said it.

He doesn't seem nervous at all, and an eleven year old kid sure as hell doesn't talk like that..
