technology is the only thing we have that can make any gains in the world. everything else drags it down.

not true
religious organisations help a lot of people who otherwise would not be in a position to help themselves
the religious community provides a place for people to learn moral values and learn how to behave in a society
(ignore extremists for a minute)
religion will always exist in one form or another, it may evolve over time into the belief of an ideal instead of an idol or a deity
but you can't go making the statement you did
that's just ignorant

I live for sciences smile.gif

I have never believe in a specific religion and in my opinion it is stupid.

Science makes us evolve, understand different types of situation and phenomenoms and so on....

the future lies on science

the fact they do nice things for other people
shouldnt be done out of fear of judgement from some divine force
it should be because it is the right thing to do
if you only help people and live a good life
because you think it will get you a ticket into heaven
are you really a good person??
compared to someone who does not believe in god but does those things because it is the right thing to do???

I swear everything here has already been mentioned several times.

I'm completely aware, and you're right, but unforunately we're not under the civilised roof of any sort of objective inquiry: this is just about refuting falsehoods.

this has been posted 50,000 times by me and others. You're wasting your time typing all that out. No one is gonna learn about it that really needs to.

In regards to it being pointless to state the same thing over and over again, I hope 'the truth' as it were, never loses patience; we can't afford to. I'm fully aware that anyone who needs to be told this is already immunised, but they need to see a response, and I needed to write it -- and there's always hope.

Depends, the Qu'ran has a quote specifically dealing with that :/...those who act good only in fear are no better than those who sin.

Christianity is a little murkier, faith is incredibly important, and faith isn't merely "God exists", but also your acceptance of Christ as Lord.

If you accept Christ as Lord, you "want" to better yourself an act as He acted, you often find yourself unable, but you do want to become a better person, and you try and act morally not only because of fear, but because of faith.

The only hope being that we'll start integrating bionic parts and religious nuts will be left as just "normal" humans.
