There is quite legitimate estimations that large parts of the global economy will collapse in a short while and this will trigger what we need to force humanity into new ways of doing things.
Chinas economy is very unstable and with high probability about to collapse, along with Greece. Maybe in about as little as 6 months, maybe within a couple or a few years, but it's not long til this likely, well unavoidable thing occurs.
Well see, to the fall of 2016 what the state of the world looks like... My money is in about 8 months. May be off with this estimation, this guessing, but change is however forced upon us around the corner.
USA economy is next after China and Greece and the snowball effect from all of this will shake up our belief systems and faith to this system to the core, and new, sustainable ways will hopefully fairly quickly emege out of the troubles that goes along with this collapse.
25 years is a long time in a world within witch change is accellerating. Who knows, by then spaceships from other worlds might be here saying hello. :D
I don't eat meat, but I agree... Quite barbaric if it's not needed, but this is also just conditioning, we're brought up with meat consumption so it's normal to many of us.
Did you check out any earthship design?
I dont know about growing my own vegetables/plants in the city... I for example dont have a garden and even if I did, my production would be less than sustainable for me since i eat vegetables on a daily basis.
Growing vegetables on a global scale is gonna be the only solution but most if not all society has to become vegetarian for it to matter...
Producing meat on a global scale is extremely unsustainable as it uses massive amounts of water and food to feed the large amounts of cows, pigs, chickens etc. When u get the chance just watch the documentary i wrote about above, it will give u a perspective as to how bad this problem is in terms of the environment. I didnt mean it in a sense that its a barbaric act to kill and eat animals but more so that its polluting the environment.
Over-fishing is also a huge problem and theres a prediction that by 2040 the fish populations world-wide would be almost completely destroyed.
There r so many problems with the environment caused by us that I dont see them being solved any time soon, no matter what the global economy is like, if anything i think that it might get even worst if the economy gets bad since its all about money and if the economy drops then the people that will suffer financial loss will try to earn money even harder and if those people work in fishing/deforestation etc they will cut even more trees illegally and fish in illegal areas even more just go make ends meat...
I wish u r right tho and things get better in the next 20-30 years.
