this is a normal reaction somebody with a panic disorder or anxiety disorder may experience while using cannabis. THC can trigger panic attacks and psychosis in people with a predisposition to those health conditions. THC is highly psychoactive and should not be used by people with anxiety disorders. i doubt cannabis caused this to happen to you, it merely aggravated a problem you already had.

Hey yah i agree well cannabis did what I really believe happened is that weed made it worse and kicked anxiety disorder of i would of never of gotten as bad if i didn't smoke. because the first panic attack i ever had was from weed even tho i suffered from mild anxiety,

it does sound logical to consider that you would not of had the problems as severe had you never smoked it in the first place, but also consider that the majority of people that use cannabis do not experience negative things as you describe. It takes a certain mind frame to allow anxiety/panic/paranoia to take grip of yourself when using cannabis. it is similar in a way to how other more powerful hallucinogenic drugs effect people with a stressed/negative mindset. if you go into the trip on a bad note, the negativities will be amplified.
also consider that panic disorder is not something that happens overnight. anxiety disorders are usually caused by some underlining stress and concern in your life. general practitioner doctors often look at it as a chemical imbalance that needs to be corrected. and while that may be an effective solution for some, it does not fix the underlining cause of the disorder in the first place. Some people find it helpful to discuss things with a therapist, particular one that specializes in panic disorders. They can be expensive but insurance should cover some of the cost.

I have to disagree tho most marijuana advocates are oblivious to the fact that there's tons of people a huge percentage who have been effected that way. I am not blaming weed 100% tho i live a very stressful life between my work and everyday life but i know i would of been fine if i didn't touch weed.

As I previously stated before that I have been panic attack free and I was cleared by a psychiatrist. My question is what my initial post stated.

I saw some studies that say about 1 out of 4 people (25%) have some anxiety-type reaction to THC in varying degrees. Usually its just a little paranoia/nervousness and isnt bad enough to cause problems for the majority of that 25%. Part of the problem is a lot of newer strains have been selectively bread for high THC and lower amounts of the other cannabinols like CBD. New research has shown that CBD (non psychoactive) plays a role in reducing or eliminating the worst of THC effects. Since the medical cannabis revolution, they are now breeding cannabis with high levels of CBD and it is a lot more mellow and has more medical uses.
You keep saying you know you would have been fine had you not touched cannabis - That is impossible to know unfortunately. Cannabis is not known to cause panic disorder, but it has been proven in studies that it can trigger it if you already have the problem. Just because your first panic attack was on cannabis, does not mean cannabis caused it - I know it seems logical to think that but there is just no scientific/medical evidence that i've seen that supports that theory. The psychoactive effects of cannabis last about 12 hours. You said u had problems for 2-3 months. Instead of dwelling on the past and trying to get back to a state of mind you used to have (impossible), just learn from your experiences and move forward in a positive direction. Nothing will change the fact that you had some bad experiences using cannabis. My advice would be to get educated on cannabis and anxiety disorders. You really shouldn't be blaming the weed because nobody forced you to smoke it. It is your responsibility to know what substances you are consuming and what effects they may have.
