But we still scratching our heads some of the time when we find things we cannot understand
Except no one has found Nemesis or Nibiru.
The Nemesis Hypothesis was created to explain the discovery of a rather unusual mathematical function (extinction events as a function of time). It has never been confirmed and it is pretty much dead for two reasons:
1. The star has not been detected even though it has been searched for, it should have shown up in the searches that have been conducted.
2. Further research has shown the previous mentioned function isn't as accurate as it was originally though to be.
Now lets compare this to Nibiru:
A woman named Nancy Lieder claims she is in contact with super aliens who told her about it, and that it would happen in 2003. Even crazier:
Quote (wikipedia)
Roughly a week before the supposed arrival of Planet X, Lieder appeared on KROQ-FM radio in Los Angeles, and advised listeners to put their pets down in anticipation of the event. When asked if she had done so, she replied that she had, and that "The puppies are in a happy place." She also advised that "A dog makes a good meal". After the 2003 date passed without incident, Lieder said that it was merely a "White Lie ... to fool the establishment." She refused to disclose the true date, saying that to do so would give those in power enough time to declare martial law and trap people in cities during the shift, leading to their deaths.
Remember on Sesame Street, when they played the game "one of these things is not like the other"? You should try it.
