my understanding (encarta circa 1999) is that things are sucked into black holes and then they never escape, and that there is only a gradual and increasingly fading release of the matter which is like alice falling down the wonder hole.
soooo if this particular black hole is the biggest we know of, i have a couple other important questions: are there others? and, is this black hole at the center of a very big galaxy, or is this black hole growing exponentially.
might be hard to tell if it's reallllly far away, but if it's not reallllly far away and it's getting closer all the time, how close is it?
