the old classic, free will vs. determinism

cannot know for sure, but the current consensus is that the universe isn't deterministic by nature

e: theoretical thinking of that type isn't very fruitful either, it's an easy tool for justifying crazy things by accepting their "in theory" aspect

its a duality of both, in the words of Epictetus, "sick and yet happy, in peril and yet happy, dying and yet happy, in exile and happy, in disgrace and happy,"

in fact it doesnt even matter. As far as we are concerned, the illusion of free will is sufficient

it depends, is multi-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics true? if so, or if certain parts of it are true, then no such thing as free will. same applies for a omniscient deity.

There is nothing without your will.
Stop having the will to do something and see if it happens, no it doesnt.
