If the big bang started everything. What caused it?

I mean if space was a vast nothingness. What could cause the explosion?

Just watched video in second post... physicist claims that if we live in a balanced and flat universe accelerating to an infinite velocity that what is happening is only what might be happening.
I'm a spiritual person and I believe that consciousness has a capacity to shape our universe. Collectively, our consciousness is exploring an infinitely vast universe with infinite possibilities.

Agreed. I thought the same way.

I understand the example with the room is just used to show how on a long enough timeline anything that could happen will happen (probably), but is that actually true with them being in one half of the room?  Wouldn't they diffuse through the room?

imagine this:
how large is the room? -> very small
how many molecules are in the room? -> just a few
this gives a small chance that it will be happen, but if you waint for an infinite amount of time, it WILL happen.
now imagine the effect on a room, that is a bit bigger. the chance is nearly nothing... but the chance still exists...
I don't know if the dude with the example you comented on has any idea of the big bang theory, but the chance that the molecules in a room are just on one half must still exist... at least when we haven't defined the size of the room!

Is it though? I mean because of the way things diffuse the molecules aren't moving totally at random.

In a frame of infinite time, the chance of it happening is 100%.

that was the point...to expose the meaningless nature of your statement
