They had really big numbers in the past too. They could have easily said billions of years if they had any idea how old the Earth was, but because it's bronze age mythology written by sheep herders they had absolutely no idea how old the Earth was.

Today's mythology is yesterday's religion, after all.

I think it's more of a critique of the idea Jesus rides dinosaurs coloring books. It's not that YECs are stupid, it's that they are lazy in evaluating their beliefs. No attempt is made to understand how the world works, just that the bible says so. It's kind of berating to their god to not fully explore their religion and human condition. For that, they get a graph.

So, if any of you have parents/grandparents who were born prior to March 1927, you should ask them what it was like watching the dinosaurs go extinct. Must have been depressing. After all, I remember watching the Mastadons go extinct four years ago. Those big hairy elephants never saw it coming.


i love this, this is for thoes religions that say the earth is only 6000 years old correct?
