Oh please.

So many marijuana advocates approach the problem with "getting high" in mind.

If you really want to push for legalization of pot, then stop talking about its medical benefits.  Talk more about the amount of money that can be brought into America through taxes.  Talk about how revolutionary it would be for paper and textile industries.  Talk about the massive reduction in violent cartel crimes and how they would still make money, but would not be doing so with murder.

true that

hemp makes paper faster, produces more oxygen doing so, and is far far far more renewable than trees

not to mention the rope and paper thats made from it is gfg

It's pretty unfortunate that logging has such a strong presence in today's society when we have environmentally beneficial methods to similar production.

Increase in agricultural biodiversity, reduction in large scale logging operations, reduction in unstable new growth forest practices, increase in proper agricultural crop rotation, deep root structure allowing for an increase in beneficial bacterial colonies and important soil nutrient, massive influx of available jobs, increase in American industries to process raw material, massive increase in government revenue, decrease in violent drug related crime, and so on and so on.

The list is fucking massive.

But so many people that push for it just want to toss a hippie jam fest together and get a little stoned while they bitch about the government.

Arguments like "Like, seriously right? I mean come on!" are a detriment to progress.

im really glad to see everyone on this site isnt a total fucking moron

i agree completely

people have gone about it the wrong way for entirely too long

i honestly think the way to go about it in this day and age is to focus on the industry side of it rather than medical(despite the amazing medical benefits it does have) because were considered to be in a depression and id agree with that. legalization of marijuana would bring in tons of new jobs in many different fields and not to mention more money coming back into the country rather than everything being outsourced

Not sure if u guys know recent studys about it or in which country you live. In my personal opinion a legalization could ofc bring new jobs but would cost the health system a lot more than it benefits. So I'm so saying No to legalization u cant even imagine
Additionally not even mentioned all those people that I know, who smoke and i think they gettin dumber every once in a while i get to see them.

You obviously do not know anything about cannabis.
Name me one reason it would cost something to the health system.
Even if it would, the money actually used to put and keep people in jail is much more than the money it would ever cost to the health people.
About people getting dumb, please develop also... When I meet drunk people that is what I would define dumb people... People taking weed are still rational.

They should study the potentials of EVERY cannabinoid...theres 50+ inside the cannabis plant and each one could be the next breakthrough.
Plants often produce organic compounds that have useful properties both medically and otherwise.

Study it. Grow it. Smoke it. Study it.

Theyre just waiting for the right moment to legalize it.
What I mean is they cant just come up and say: "ok now its legal" out of nothing, theres gotta be a trigger for the move so it sounds right, if you know what I mean.

IMO

it's on the ballot in colorado, washington state, and oregon(i think). this november for 100% recreational legalization. If that happens, i'll wait 1 more year to see if other states hop on board, I live in FL. If we hop on board within the next 3 years, i'll stay here. If not Hello Colorado!
