The Richard Feynman lectures at Cornell were quite interesting, and not too dumbed down. The lectures are about general physics and were filmed in the 1950s or so which means they are in b&w.

You might have to explore exotic avenues to find them...

its not a documentary but is great listening. Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.

Yes im aware hes a UFC commentator, fear factor guy, and comedian BUT hes surprisingly insightful. ALSO if you only want the eye opening science/discovery type shit you can browse the list and download/listen to the ones with the amazing guest.

One example off the top of my head is ep 186 I think (180's) with Jason Silva, listen to it and trust me you'll be hooked. And every episode is hilarious even the more comedic ones.

Great to listen too while doing other shit that doesn't grasp your full attention, I listen to them at work daily(luckily my job is pretty lax lol).
